The Good:
This works out of the packet on Linux Ubuntu 9.10 (LTS) and has excellent read/write speeds on my ageing DELL Dimension 8400. A compact form factor means that it doesn't require much desk space. A cost effective solution for computers without built-in card readers.
The Bad:
The disk slots are "sloppy" (probably to accommodate the tolerances in size between different manufacturers) meaning that inserting the cards must be done with care: I managed to bend the pins in the CF slot the first time that I used the device! Two hands are recommended (necessary) to insert cards. It only had a short USB cable supplied and it really is too short: make sure that you have a spare if you want to position this anywhere other than on the top of your PC.
The Ugly:
This is the tackiest bit of kit that I've ever bought: lightweight and plastic.
Overall:
Ultimately, I really didn't need this device which is probably why I've been less than enthusiastic. Nonetheless, its two redeeming features are its cost and the excellent read/write speeds and on that basis alone I would recommend this device. However, handle with care!

Bought one of these to use with my laptop and it works fine on the three diffent formats of card that I use. It's pretty quick reading and writing, is well made, and the lamps let you know what's going on. It comes with a short cable, about 15", which is perfect for my purposes.
Being a bit vulnerable to dust ingress, it would have been nice to have had a case of some sort with it, but at the price one can't complain.

It feels cheap and plastic because of course that is what it is.
I had problems with windows 7 64bit which didn't always recognize it or install it properly. Often I couldn't access the card contents at all using this device. This may be more a problem with Windows 7 than this reader as I have also had similar problems with an older card reader.

I confess I didn't expect much for this sum of money :-). It is pretty plasticy, it has no instructions (however there aren't many ways you can put a card in a slot!). For me it works just fine. I was using a reader on my printer up until this and the speed from this is great - much faster. It has worked just fine with Compact Flash cards and SD cards. Good but for the money.

Hi to all ,i could not stop my self writing a review about ABC product it is really amazing,my desktop which is six year old dell celeron gone mad i could not believe its my pc and became very fast this small device is awsome.
i used my micro sd card with an adapter which i had in my home.
its very simple
it detect everything by itself you dont need to download or intall at all.
its is good for some one who dont have a laptop or their laptops dont have diffrent type of memory card options.
i would recommend it to every one.
Size..one more thing about the size just to let customers know i put my Nokia N95 plum on it the length is equal to when its not open or a bit smaller than it,thickness is fine.
