I have a very useful monopod walking stick with a small removeable compass which unscrews in order to attach a camera or binoculars. The compass is helpful, but for my own purposes I find it of greater assistance to attach this knob which provides a useful support if I need to lean on it, which I sometimes do if, for example, I am using the stick when coming down a rough slope.
