Works as described width my MacBook Pro 15" (early 2008). I only use SD HC Cards so thats the only functionality I can review. Read speed is significantly faster than with the USB 2.0 Card Reader I used before. Installation was quick and everything worked instantly. The card does not protrude from my MacBook Pro - something I was very worried about - so it does not affect the look of my Laptop.

Bought this because the internal SD card reader died on my laptop, and I was concerned that my external SD to USB converter would get damaged / knocked out in use. The product really was not as I expected. Firstly it protrudes from the ExpressCard slot significantly, and then the SD card protrudes even further making it just as likely to be damaged.

Worse, it proved to be unreliable in action. I have all my data and apps on a 32GB SD card and also use the "ReadyBoost" Windows Vista functionality to increase the speed of my page file. Frequently the card would simply fail to read. Maybe it's not an issue for someone who just occasionally wants to copy data back and forth from an SD card, but as I literally live on my SD card this was completely unnacceptable and not up to Kensington's usual standard. I normally go for name brands when I buy stuff like this having been burnt by no-name cheap equipment, but in this case it proved a bad investment.
