I have a very useful monopod walking stick with a small removeable compass which unscrews in order to attach a camera or binoculars. The compass is helpful, but for my own purposes I find it of greater assistance to attach this knob which provides a useful support if I need to lean on it, which I sometimes do if, for example, I am using the stick when coming down a rough slope.

Yes, the reviews all said it was small, but even so when it arrived I was surprised just how small, it's not much bigger than a CF case. This is perfect for when I'm off on a trip, I can download onto my netbook to view my phots and it will hardly take up any space in my netbook bag, where space is at a premium. My camera uses CF so I needed a card reader as my netbook built-in card reader only reads a very limited range of cards. I couldn't get it to work at first until I got the order right, for my netbook I need to plug the reader in first, then insert the card into the reader, plugging it in with a card already in place doesn't work. Having a micro SD slot so I can sort out the music on my phone is handy too, those SD micro/standard adapters are so unreliable. Highly recommended for those who have a camera that doesn't take SDs.

i was having problems transfering pictures to and from a sony m2 card inserted in a sony ericcson mobile phone, it would get so far and tell me the device stopped working, so i purchased this.

it wouldnt install drivers at first but i unplugged another mass storage device and they installed ok then.

i then went to copy 500 plus pictures onto the card and it took about 5 seconds so i'm very pleased with this and highly recommend it to anyone.

Its tiny. Hardly any bigger than a compact flash card - I think that's the limiting factor on the size.



Read pretty much every flavour of card you could want - the only one missing is Smartmedia, and that's pretty much died out, except for 8-year old compacts.

Like the previous reviewer I was taken aback by the tiny dimensions of this unit. The reason I knocked off one star is because you have to be quite accurate when putting cards into it. Not because it will break any pins, but because you need to get it angled just right to get the memory card in smoothly - in my case a standard size SD.

If you are a bit ham-fisted or have trouble with fine motor skills then you should look for a larger more forgiving unit.

The one I received was also black and had that nice 'rubberised' feel we see so often on gadgets these days.



Worked with Vista x64 (SP1) AND my Intel Mac (Leopard - 10.5.6) out of the box, no problems! No driver install needed. Note: the Mac will stay silent until you insert a memory card, whereas Windows will show a 'phantom' drive until you insert a memory card.
