This reader will only work with cards up to 1GB. This is from personal experience and also from Belkins UK website. If you only want to work with small cards it works fine but be aware of its limitation.

Worked out of the box on my iMac running Snow Leopard. Didn't need to install the drivers from the disk. Knocked off a star as it's a tad plasticky.

The item works well. I'm using it with a Fuji 8GB SDHC class 4 and a ByteStor 16GB SDHC Class 6 Memory Card. Both purchased from Amazon.co.uk seller as was the reader/writer rather than a Market place seller. A short USB cable of 23 cm and a long USB cable of about 153 cm are supplied. The short white cable attaches to my Mac keyboard and the white colour matches the keyboard very well. The device does come also in black. I've had the item roughly since 17th May 2010 or a few days after. I downloaded videos of a few gigabytes using the device. The green power light is not even the slightest bit piercing just misty. Transfers to me seemed quick. All in all so far very good.

Excellent - easy to use product.



Reason for purchase - its basically the only Multi-Format Reader to include the XD (Fuji Standard) Card Reader.



Installation was very easy and quick on Windows 7 Ultimate 64.



Only criticism is the connection of the mini-usb into the Reader being on the side - as opposed to the back. If it was on the back it would take up less desk space! Come on Belkin - use the old grey matter!!!

The Belkin universal media reader is excellent and i have been using it with my apple macbook. It is easy to use and takes all cards around its a very fast way to gather all your photos and put them on to your computer. Its very good value because i see the same one on the apple website at nearly double the price. I use the media reader mainly for photos and videos and it comes with two different lengths of usb cable which is handy. Very pleased and would definitely recommend.

Bought this as use SDHC and micro SDHC quite a bit. Laptop doesn't handle SDHC, only SD (up to 2 GB) in the built-in slot so wanted something to take the 8GB micro SDHC from my phone. Cheaper than getting an adaptor for the expresscard slot, and most of those I saw said they operate at USB 2.0 speed anyway. Like that it uses standard mini-USB connector for lead. Not so small that it gets lost easily.

Typical Belkin quality!. Attractive functional design. Covers ALL major and not so obvious memory cards. Tiny little slot for micro SD cards for mobile 'phones. Driver disc not needed for Windows 7 64-bit. Just plug and play. Very impressive upload speeds. Almost instant. USB lead is of a good length. LED indicators. Great value for money, and you get the Belkin lifetime warranty.

I am very impressed with the product. In the past I have always used really cheap card readers, believing that they are all the same. This reader however is superbly designed, it is very easy to insert cards. It is also very fast, cards mount on the Mac desktop instantly and copying files is much quicker than any reader I have previously used. Highly recommended.

Solid and well made. You get about 5 new drive letters created for the different media types. I had a slight issue with Windows 7 64bit where the software wouldn't install because of the Windows version, and Windows itself didn't recognise it either. I ended up running the installer in Vista compatibility mode and it works well now.
