Great sturdy tripod, used a few times for waterfall and landscape photography. Good price and well made.

It is a good product. Not perfect but absolutely worth the price. Sturdy enough for everyday use. Avides offers the cheapest price on amazon so it is good choice. I was waiting 2 days longer than in my 'delivery estimated time' but I can recommend it anyway.

I purchased this tripod to use with my Canon G11. And to do some stop-frame photography with my son. It is quite light and easy to fit into a back pack. It does not wind up to any great height but still has lots of uses. For the price I consider it to be very good value. Came with it's own bag too. I even managed to modify the quick release plate to fit an old bigger Vanguard tripod that I had lost the plate from, so all in all I am very happy with it.

This is my first camera tripod, and I am incredibly pleased with it. I spent a couple of weeks trying to decide whether to get a full sized tripod or this mini, and I went with this one for a number of reasons, the main one being its portability - I can travel with this quite easily. Great for City breaks, walks, landscape photography, etc.
There aren't a lot of product details listed on Amazon - the closed size of this tripod is only 30cm, and can extend to a maximum height of 64cm. It weight in at only approx 750g.
Anyone familiar with tripods will know this, but for first time purchasers like myself, it has a quick release platform. This means that you can screw the platform on to the base of your camera, and then quickly and easily attach and release the camera and platform from the tripod base, which saves fully screwing the and unscrewing the camera each time you want to use the tripod.
The tripod is pretty sturdy when extended, and comes with a very basic travel case with handles.
If your looking for a sturdy yet small and portable tripod this could be just what you need. And at a superb price

I use this as a chiropody footstool, the footplate attaches to the tripod as a camera would normally. A leg can be very heavy and I have found the Velbon tripod is very stable and sturdy. This one came with a small carry bag which is very useful as well. I use the tripod some 9 or 10 times a day and I find the 'joints' remain tight and good. This is my 3rd Velbon tripod in 7 years so I think thats pretty good as it gets alot of wear and tear. Recommended

Excellent value, could do with separate ball head for easier adjustment, but at this price is a bargain.

took this little gem with me to scotland, its perfect for a starter tripod. not heavy at all you hardly even notice it! its sturdy enough to hold my nikon d40 with a sigma 70-300 lens which is not exactly light! if you are looking for a cheap practical starter tripod then get this!

Small, light and perfect for steadying a video camera - seriously improves your normally shaky handiwork.
Very simple to set up, just start pulling and twisting the various knobs until it works! Good height for all work (I'm just under 6') including photography. Hoping to use it with a DSLR when I finally get round to getting one.
The gold / brown finish is quite nice too - not so shiny and stand-out as normal silver.
Only downsides are the bubble levels - the head doesn't quite sit flat and moves independent of the rest of the tripod, so it's not likely to level on both head and feet at the same time. The bubbles are not standard spirit level (cross-tube) type either - just a bump with a bubble and centre dot (o) making fine tuning almost impossible.
Still, seems like a reasonable quality bit of kit for the price.

For the price this is an excellent first tripod that has a nice sturdy build and is also very portable which includes its own carry case.

As a beginner exploring all the manual settings on my new Canon 500D camera I needed a tripod and wanted one that was lighweight but sturdy. This fits the bill as far as I am concerned. Easy to carry around when out walking the dog and light enough to take on holiday when I next go away. I love the quick release feature as it makes taking the camera on and off so much quicker and the bubble spirit levels are useful. My biggest lens is a Canon 55-250mm and I've taken some great shots with it. Combined with a remote release I'm having great fun.
