Item looks really cheap and tacky, but it works well. I thought I'd bought a load of junk, but it's great. Had it for months now and it's still running perfectly. Very good price.

I bought this product despite mixed reviews. Unfortunately it stopped working after the second use. I contacted the seller for a replacement on no less than 4 occasions and was assured that a replacement was being sent. Considering the first item reached me in only a few days, I can concerns over the truth behind assurances of a replacement item being sent and never being received.
After finally giving up on getting a replacement I requested a full refund, to which I received no reply despite several requests for them to acknowledge receipt of my request (they previously responded to all emails). I ended up having to contact Amazon direct to achieve a full refund.
In short, if all goes well and your product works, you're home and dry. If not, you're screwed as this seller is as useless and helpful as a chocolate teapot.
Buy from these guys at your own risk. You have been warned, and not just by me.

Very awkward and bulky, don't like the way this feels, and the card is clumsy to put in and take out because of the bad design... cheap

It was great for about 4 or 5 months, then just packed in. It decided that it was write-protected, so i couldn't save anything, even though the write-protection slider on the side of the card indicated that write-protection was off.
Apparently this is a problem with many SD card readers, but I would recomend trying a different brand that may last longer.

Having seen the reviews i thought this was worth a shot. I'm pleased to say that i'm glad i bought it. I use both a and a Mac (OSX) and PC (XP) and the device works perfectly with both. The transfer rate is very good, equaling that of the camera and a USB cable, maybe even quicker.
The device itself is quite plasticy, but i wasn't expecting anything else! This is nothing to worry about though. Like one of the other reviewers i have taken off the cover to the memory card slot as it just gets in the way and is fiddly to open.
I use it with a SanDisk 8GB SDHC card for anyone interested.

The reader works as promised and at the price (very low) is good value. However it is made of very flimsy plastic and it is difficult to insert memory cards without a certain amount of jiggling about. Whilst working at the moment the lightweight construction must give doubts about its future.

This is the second card reader that I have bought for the express purpose of reading Smartmedia cards and again I find it is not capable of this. The item in the photograph is a different model and the description that states it is capable of reading Smartmedia is wrong. Don't waste your money!
