Use of a monopod is highly recommended for photographers seeking value for money and versatility. Monopods are specially designed for photographers on the move, for all styles of photography such as fashion or sports. With a monopod you can support heavy still and video cameras, make instant changes to angle and position in restricted spaces and capture that perfect moment first time. For use in mud or snow, the specially designed rubber foot accessory gives full support by spreading the load. Made primarily from aluminum alloy, the all-metal construction gives a feeling of solidity and confidence. Its surfaces are carefully polished twice, so its sections lock firmly and can be released quickly. Finally, the monopod is anodized to preserve the sheen of the original aluminum, or a pure black finish. It reflects the photographer's individuality; it catches the eye, and reflects its own special style

 "Rock Solid Monopod" 2010-06-09
By J. R. Bestall (Herefordshire)
I shopped around for ages before deciding on this monopod and I'm glad I did. Extended it's easily tall enough for any normal task, and nicely compact when it's being carried strapped to a rucksack. It's light, but man is it solid and reassuring in use. The levers lock securely, and it's the right price. I've had Manfrotto stuff before, but this was by far the better option in every way. I know I'm picky, but I'd recommend this Monopod 101%.

I bought this monopod recently and have fallen in love,it is strongly made although light, carries my heavy Nikon D700 with ease and has pretty much made my tripod redundant.finish is good an very easy to open and shut, thanks to the quick release levers,it stands very high when fully open too high for me and Im 5.11 inches, overall I would recommend this monopod fully

 "Solid Solid Solid !" 2009-08-21
By Larry in Sussex (United Kingdom)
This is a really solid quality item and has

completely resolved my problem of camcorder shake.

Slightly heavier than I imagined but it almost works

as a gimbal when held in a delicate way near the top!

Almost zero flex at 170cm full extention.

A ball head attachment allowing swivelling

of camera may be useful for some.

Highly recommended!

Giottos GTMML 3270B - 4 Section 170cm Pro Monopod

I purchased this Monopod as my tripod was too heavy to carry around on holidays. I am glad I did as so quick and easy to use although I wish it would have collapsed smaller to completely fit in my camera bag. But appart from that I can highly recommend this item. Amazon gives excellent and speedy service.

Lightweight, sturdy, and excellent build quality.

I've tried this out with a very heavy 100-400mm Canon lens, and it is works great.

After a tripod, a monopod is the most effective way of increasing the stability of your camera and improving the sharpness of your photographs. Quite simply, the monopod connects your camera to the ground, supporting the weight whilst you concentrate on framing your shot and firing the shutter. Manufactured from 6061 grade aluminium and featuring quick action lever leg locks, foam hand grip and a security wrist strap. The camera or lens can be mounted directly to the top of the monopod, or a head can be attached to improve camera positioning.

 "Solid performer" 2010-05-11
By P. J. Bayliss (Warwickshire, uk)
Good solid monopod, i bought this version because i am 6ft 6" tall and this monopod is plenty long enough, it could do with a rubber pad on the top to prevent marking your camera if used without a ball head but most people will put a ball head on it, quality is worth paying an extra quid or two for!

By J. R. G. Dibble (LONDON)
The Monopod is of solid construction and small enough to carry without getting in the way when walking with a camera shoulder bag and a rucksack on my back.

The rubber grip makes it comfortable to carry by hand and it does not get too cold on winter days.

I fitted it with a Manfrotto Head and the whole thing feels very robust and will take a camera and a very long focus lens without feeling unstable.

A tripod can get heavy when walking long distances so a Monopod or beanbags are the obvious answer and the Monopod gives height adjustment.

All in all a great purchase.
