Sudoku is a simple yet fun game that can be enjoyed by anyone of any age. Sudoku uses a grid of 9x9 cells, which is subdivided into nine boxes of 3x3 cells each. At the start some of cells already have numbers filled in. Every horizontal row of cells must contain the numbers 1-9. Each number can only occur once in each row. Similarly each vertical column must contain only one of each number from 1-9. Likewise, the numbers 1-9 must appear in each 3x3 box only once.This electronic version of the game is fantastic for Sudoku fans of any age - from beginners to experts. It's slimline design allows it to be taken with you wherever you go. It comes in a lovely presentation box with full English instructions and has a 1 year warranty.Summary of each button on the game and features: LOCK: Locks the number in the cell so the number cannot be replaced. CLEAR: Erases the number displayed in the cursor cell. If held down, this button restarts the puzzles. MEMO: When pressed repeatedly, displays all the candidate numbers for the current cell. HINT: Moves the cursor to a cell where the correct number can be easily deduced. If held down, shows how many options you have for each empty cell. STATUS: Displays the level of difficulty of the current puzzle, the number of hints used so far, the time taken and best previous time. LEARN: Starts a Sudoku exercise. SOLVE: Displays the solution to the puzzle. INSERT: Allows you to set up a puzzle from a magazine. MATCH: Allows you to enter a code number to generate a puzzle. If the same code is entered on 2 different machines, the same puzzle is displayed on both machines. SOUND: Switches the sound on or off. NEW: Begins a new puzzle. To select the difficulty level, select level 1-9 once pressed.
